2025 IBM North America AI for Business Award
Salient's CLARITY methodology covers the full process lifecycle: mapping, analysis, business architecture, governance, simulation, training, prioritization, and the business case that gets automation and AI investment approved. Every engagement ends with a clear recommendation for the right next build.
Why Ongoing Support Matters
Gartner
Of automation programs see measurable performance degradation within 18 months without active platform maintenance.
Forrester
Cost premium to re-engage a project team after a gap, versus retaining a specialist with existing environment knowledge.
APQC
Of organizations report process improvement capability deteriorates within one year after a consulting engagement ends without structured ongoing coaching.

Ongoing platform coverage for your IBM automation and watsonx environments. Your team focuses on the business. Salient manages the technology.
What's Covered
Every activity below is included in scope. Nothing gets billed separately when something breaks.
All IBM platform installations, version upgrades, and fix pack applications managed on your schedule with full rollback planning and regression validation before production deployment.
Continuous monitoring with routine accessibility tests to verify platform health, integration uptime, and performance against agreed baselines before your users notice an issue.
Timely response to all IBM environment support issues with root cause analysis, resolution documentation, and preventive recommendations after every incident.
Regular performance reviews with specific tuning recommendations for throughput, queue management, and infrastructure configuration. Proactive guidance before issues surface.
All platform artifacts managed in secure source control with version history, deployment standards, and environment governance maintained across dev, test, and production.
Salient submits and owns all IBM PMR and support cases on your behalf with direct relationships inside IBM's support organization to accelerate resolution of critical issues.

watsonx
Model environments, API integrations, and IDP pipelines in production workflows.
watsonx
Digital labor environments with skill catalog management and BAW integration monitoring.
watsonx
Conversational AI deployments including dialog management and containment rate monitoring.
watsonx
AI governance environments including model monitoring, drift detection, and compliance reporting.

Ongoing analyst support for teams actively mapping, improving, and building process intelligence capability with expert coaching always available.
What's Included
Process intelligence is a practice. This track keeps your analysts advancing with expert guidance on every active engagement, not just when something goes wrong.
The PM&A Sprint is about building process intelligence capability: mapping key processes, establishing methodology standards, training your team, and setting up the Blueworks Live environment. Outputs include automation-ready process maps, a trained team, and an organized repository. The Opportunity Lab is about investment prioritization: producing a scored, ROI-quantified ranking of automation and AI candidates with a business case formatted for CFO and board approval. Many teams run the Sprint first and the Opportunity Lab second.

How to Engage
Track 1: Technology
Track 2: Process Intelligence
A sustained BAW engagement addressed origination bottlenecks that had limited throughput for years. Ongoing platform support and continuous process improvement cut time-to-closing by 50%. Each improvement built on the last.
Sonoco's global operations team engaged Salient to map critical processes, train their Global Process Owners, and set up a sustainable improvement practice using Blueworks Live and Business Compass. Ongoing support kept the methodology advancing after the initial engagement, giving Sonoco the internal capability to continue building on the foundation without starting over each cycle.
Clemens started with two automation use cases identified through process mapping with Salient. Ongoing advisory and a quick-win-first approach gave the team the ROI evidence and confidence to build an internal hyperautomation CoE. Within a year, they had a repeatable program, a prioritized backlog, and the internal capability to manage and expand it without a full re-engagement each cycle.

No. Salient takes over managed services for IBM environments built by other partners, built internally, or running without formal support for years. Onboarding includes an environment assessment and documentation review so the team understands your architecture before taking operational responsibility.
Yes. Both tracks are independently scoped and can be added, adjusted, or reduced at renewal without affecting the other. Many organizations start with the Technology track after a production launch and add Process Intelligence when they're ready to build out their CoE.
The track is calibrated to your current level. For a team with basic training, the focus shifts to methodology quality, business architecture currency, and analytical judgment that takes years to develop without expert coaching. Sessions are adjusted quarterly based on what your team actually needs.
Managed services is an operational commitment, not a block of hours. Salient takes ongoing responsibility for platform health and program quality, with defined deliverables, a regular cadence, and proactive monitoring. You're buying a running platform and an advancing capability, not access to our time.
Salient submits and owns all IBM PMR and support cases with direct relationships inside IBM's technical support organization. We own every case through to resolution, provide status updates, and escalate within IBM when severity requires it. You don't manage the IBM support relationship.
Agreements are scoped based on the number of environments covered, architecture complexity, team size, and support intensity required. We assess your situation in a discovery call and give you a specific number before any commitment. Agreements are monthly retainers with annual terms and defined deliverables.
One conversation. We look at what's running, what's behind, and where your team needs support. You'll leave with a specific scope recommendation for one or both tracks.
