The capability map in its entirety delivers a concise, non-redundant, business-centric view of the business at its most basic level. It also encompasses a complete picture of what that business does.
Capabilities represent the basic building blocks of a business. These building blocks can be used, improved, rearranged, and leveraged in various ways to achieve an infinite range of business goals; however, a business must first define those building blocks.
